Our Approach.

Roots-Based.

I believe many of the challenges we face in our daily lives can be traced back to past experiences. Using evidence-based approaches like EMDR and IFS, I help clients identify and process those memories, release emotional blocks, and build resilience. I often liken our lives to a garden: while there are many beautiful and healthy aspects—like the flowers—there are also struggles, like the weeds. If we only focus on quick fixes to our problems, such as cutting the weeds at the surface, we ignore the deeper issue: the roots. Although this approach may provide temporary relief, the weeds inevitably grow back. By digging deeper, we can uncover and address the root causes of our struggles, removing them entirely to prevent future growth. A roots-based approach to therapy leads to lasting, meaningful change and helps foster true healing.

Trauma-Informed.

I approach therapy with the understanding that trauma—whether big or small—can have a profound impact on an individual. Recognizing the far-reaching effects of trauma on a person’s emotional, mental, and physical well-being is essential to fostering healing, empowerment, and resilience. With this perspective, I prioritize creating a foundation of safety, trust, and collaboration between myself and the client, as these elements are key to the therapeutic process.

Christ-Centered.

I offer a faith-based, Christ-centered approach to therapy for those who wish to incorporate their spirituality into their healing journey. My goal is to help you align your emotional and spiritual well-being, fostering a deeper sense of peace and purpose as you navigate life's challenges. This faith-based perspective is entirely optional, and I respect your choice to opt out if preferred. Whether you choose to explore your faith within therapy or prefer a secular approach, I am dedicated to providing compassionate care that honors and respects your personal beliefs.

Therapy Interventions

  • EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an approach that helps individuals process and resolve traumatic memories by using forms of bilateral stimulation to facilitate adaptive processing of distressing experiences. It aims to reduce the disturbance level of traumatic memories and integrate them more effectively into a person's cognitive framework.

  • Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on understanding and integrating the various "parts" of a person's psyche, with the belief that each part has a positive intent, even if it manifests in maladaptive ways. The goal is to help individuals achieve inner harmony by fostering self-leadership and healing wounded parts.

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy approach that helps individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors, and replace them with more realistic and adaptive ones. It aims to reduce distress by improving emotional regulation and promoting healthier thinking and coping strategies.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy that emphasizes the development of skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. It is particularly effective for individuals with borderline personality disorder and those struggling with intense emotional dysregulation.
